Pls help-why cant i understand western english thanks?

It may be that when english is a second language for these other people, they speak slowly and pronounce the words; when we speak English, we forget to take our time and we speak fast which may make it hard for you to understand when everything is blending; it happens all over the world; I was in Portugal and they asked me to speak a little slower in English so they could catch what I was saying; we went to Spain and couldn't catch a word in Spanish because they were speaking so fast; a common problem unfortunately.
