04 Astro awd has a electric motor to operate the front wheel drive, was workinb before accident, not now?

I would go with the fuses. Then again, I hven't a clue how bad the accident really was so you might have knocked the electric wire off or messed up the motor which will constitute climbing around underneath the van looking at all the connections. I would also use a multimeter to see if you're getting power when you turn the switch on.
