Can i cook raw hamburger patties in the crock pot?

My boyfriend wants to cook hamburger, yes for hamburgers, in the crock pot. Thankfully, he hasn't attempted it yet, and if anyone knows if it could be done, would be great! We've been together 7 years with my cooking, and he just discovered the crock pot......
